Nodal - Generative Music Software
« on: December 18, 2009, 04:22:41 PM »
Was initially for the MAC, now have Windows version out (free for x number of days, ~3 wks maybe). $25 to register it (and free upgrades to next major release, i.e. 2.0) Check out the tutorial on it as it's rather interesting.

Yeah nice idea for the software. I love working with semi-randomly generated melodies.

Here's my first test with Nodal:

I've tried this program a number of times in winXP and had nothing but trouble.
The concept is great though.
I'm hoping the upcoming commercial version will be more bug free.

If you have an iPhone, you should check out the apps co-written by Brian Eno.

The apps are called Bloom, Trope, and Air.  They'll play music randomly, or you can draw your finger on the screen to play it.

They're kinda like Nodal (based on its description anyway, I haven't used it).

Are any of you familiar with Noatikl?  I think it's great for what it is, I'm just too much of a control freak to let it do it's thing.   ;D

Nice, how'd you get strings vs piano? I haven't delved back into it since I posted.
