Altus - Coma Cluster

A friend of mine told me I had to download this album - I did - and I love it.  It's drifty droney floaty spacey happiness from Altus (who's a member of this forum) - and released on Endless Ascent (Nathan Larson's ambient netlabel).

Highly recommended if you're in the mood for a deep drift.   I've spun it about 6 times now in the last couple weeks and it'll be spun again.

Altus, any chance of another live web performance? Loved the musical portion, I'm just hoping to get the video working next time.

I don't know when I'll do another live performance.  They really stress me out, which is saying something for playing ambient music. 
The web video thing was a fun thing to try, but it really pushed the limits of my system since I already use it to produce the music and stream it to the server.  I was surprised that the system held up as long as it did, and I only started getting some intermittent snapping after 50 minutes or so.

That said, if I do another live show, I'll likely lug in another system into the room and use it solely for video streaming to the server.

I have been playing Coma Cluster constantly over the past month.  It's just about perfect really.  Probably my favourite Altus album yet.  I used to thrash Excursion 2 and Water, but now it's mainly CC.

Here's to more some space ambient like this from Altus.

I agree with the others. It's rare (for me, at least) to find space ambient albums on the lighter/brighter side which don't simply come off as cheesy, but Altus has hit the nail perfectly here. Been listening to this one a lot. Even my girlfriend, who's typically much more a fan of the noisy guitar drone stuff, really likes it.

Some of the instruments used includes guitar so maybe that's why.

This is really great.  I especially like Cluster Of Galaxies, and think it is my favorite Altus track to date.  This album goes right up there with EI:Fire and Excursion One for me.  Keep it up!
