Though of course this series will be of greatest interest to those in the NJ/NY/PA area, I think this sounds like a fantastic series.  We need more of this kind of thing to keep feeding the "scene," such as it is.  Great stuff, Darren, and good luck!

thanks, mike.

numerous plans are in development to broaden the otp outreach by initiating a network that will begin locally, expand regionally and then eventually nationally. additional related projects are in the works as well, all to be unveiled in good time. :)

I drove six hours to Philly to see Roach. Four and a half to northern NJ will be a cakewalk. ;-)

Darren, you're way too close in proximity (a quick jaunt up the Parkway) for me to say no to some of these shows.  I'll definitely be at Robert Rich, and I'd like to come to the GoS and Experimedia showcases, too.

Congratulations with the series, Darren.  Sounds very cool.  BTW, Tom Hamilton was my electronic music teacher in college.

This is the exact kind of thing the "ambient scene" needs. Good luck and have a great time. Wish I could be there for all of these shows.

Post some photos later if you can. I'm very curious to see your library space.

I'm happy to announce another OTP booking:

- JOZEF VAN WISSEM, Saturday April 3

Jozef performs on his instrument of choice, the lute, interfacing it with electronics, sampling & field recordings in the creation of a rather unique strain of digital baroque folk; perhaps something of a contradictory description, but his music isn't easy to pigeonhole in any case. Nevertheless, he'll be bringing his uncategorizable sounds to OTP in the spring.

I fully plan to post photos of last Saturday's inaugural event, as well as audio samples on all respective OTP sites (including this & other forums as well), all in the next day or so.

Stay tuned!

Hoping to make it down for the Fleury-Steiner/Mikronesia gig. I was going to try to catch Robert down there, but he's also playing in Burlington VT on 5/1--a nice weekend away with the wife, who went to school up there.

But NJ calls me and I must go.

However, note that Robert will be at The Gatherings on 5/1 - not sure when he'll be in Burlington.

Now posted and ready for viewing is an excerpt from Stone Document's performance at the first OTP event:

Next up on February 20: Pogus Productions showcase featuring labelhead Al Margolis (aka If,Bwana), Tom Hamilton, and Jacqueline Martelle, playing, in various combinations, the kind of post-academic abstract texturalism that Pogus and its artists have propagated for decades.
