I haven't a clue.  I am totally ignorant.  Point me in any direction, that's what I need at this stage.  Then I'll be ready to ask more questions.  Simple and stupid is what I'm doing.

(Let's say I want to take a photo or drawing (jpg) and slowly change the hue.  How would I do that without using morphing software and lots of gigs of memory?)
So, I'm a "Sr Member", huh?  In June it's SENIOR DISCOUNT TIME!!!

BTW - Has anyone experienced any aging problems with MiniDiscs?

I know they're not too old a medium but I have some "younger" CD-rs that have gone bad
(2000ish with stick-on labels) but I haven't come across any of my MDs with aging problems (yet)
and I have many dozens of them going back to 1996. They're also an optical medium.

Scott,

I've had no MiniDisc problems myself and some of mine are 13 years old. Sturdy little beasts, they are.

cheers
Pete

I think mini-disks may not have undergone manufacturers
saying: lets see if we can create the cheapest disks!

md's are also just a tad bit more "protected"...  where you commonly can have a cd or cdr just flopping around... an md is in a handy dandy hard plastic case all that time.  ;-)

Where can one acquire mini discs for burning? I'd love to find those red ones that Waterscape uses...

I still have a bunch of mini-discs, and I haven't noticed any failures -- but it's a closed, proprietary technology, isn't it?  I'd expect there to be much less variation between manufacturers.

Still, the restrictions Sony imposed on that medium broke my heart worse than my high school girlfriend!  :'(

you mean mini cd-r (3"/8cm) right?
you can find red and black ones here for instance: http://www.mediaprostore.com/8cm-Printable-CD-R.html (shop is based in germany).
