I'm continuing to give myself short, rationed sessions of Oblivion play.  I'm up to 9th level with my new character, having fun exploring, making potions, getting mage's guild recommendations, and killing fools.

I started a new game in Dragon Age: Origins (PC), playing an "evil" character this time.  I'm looking forward to seeing what changes from my first play-through.  The only problem I have is that so far the good and evil options are so black and white, whereas Mass Effect 2 had all these shades of gray.
All in all, Dragon Age still did a fairly good job at scratching my Baldur's Gate itch.  And when I had originally finished it, I didn't want it to end.

I think I read an article that playing evil RPG characters causes you to become evil in real life.  Be careful!   ;)

Wow, crazy... just a couple days ago I was looking at the forum for the Elder Scrolls games' developer, reading all the "when will they announce Elder Scrolls V?" debate.  Most of the people on that forum were just saying "The announcement has GOT to happen soon," but apparently they've been predicting an imminent announcement for the last few years.

I've really been enjoying a re-play of Oblivion as a magic-oriented character. Ideally I could play Oblivion straight through (I'm only playing a couple of hours a week, at most) until the new one comes out, and transition straight over to Skyrim.

Thanks for the news, Altus.

what!?  Skyrim!  Wooo hoooo... .    and of course - the site is blocked by my work's firewall...  argh.

Been playing Final Fantasy - the 4 heroes of light.    Not only a bad title - but not a very good game either.  not recommended unless you're a die hard FF collector.

Has anybody played Gran Turismo 5 yet?

I've been a big GT series fan for a decade or so, and waited anxiously for this game for so long, and even bought the "prologue" version. Lately I've been so busy, though, I haven't picked this game up since it's been released.  I'd like to hear about it, though.

Haven't even replaced my broken PS3 system yet so no GT5 here, but you can see a review of it on this webshow:

Review starts about 12:30 in, this is a hard core sim racing show so its pretty thorough.
Take care.

Oblivion update: I have a bit more game time over the various vacation days and holidays, and have made it through much of the main quest and the mage's guild quests. My character is 26th level now and quite fearsome, and wealthy!

Must finish Oblivion (Elder Scrolls IV) early enough in 2011 to give me a break before Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V) in November!

Did anyone take advantage of the Steam holiday deals that occurred between Dec 20th and Jan 2nd?
Over that period, I purchased 16 games for a total of around $140.00, so yeah... my gaming needs are definitely covered for the next year or so.   ;D

Thanks for the link, Loren. I'll have to check that out. I'm afraid to get started on GT5 though, in case I go into obsessed/addicted mode and nobody hears a word from me for the next 6 months!

I've been dividing my game time between Oblivion(Fighter's Guild Champeen), Fallout 3(main quest completed, now just exploring and checking out all DLC stuff), and Eve Online.

Much as I really shouldn't do it, Skyrim will probably be a Day One purchase, but also on the radar is Portal 2, which should be a unique and fun game. A good puzzle game can probably suck up as much time as any RPG.
I'm not dead yet.

I allow myself so little video game time that I've been stretching out my current Oblivion session for something like 6 months, and I'm still nowhere near as far along as the last time I played it. It's a great game but I figure I'd better wrap this thing up and play something else for a while before Skyrim comes out.

I feel like I need this Atari retro-gaming extravaganza on my iPad.

Yes it seems this could happen based upon the review. Apparently you have to do something like twelve 24 hour endurance races to finish the game, something even these hard core sim racers complained about.

I finally replaced my PS3 and I just finished Grand Theft Auto 4, it was fun screaming down the highway in a stolen car after doing a violent crime listening to Steve Roach on the radio.  :o ;D

I just made a funny typo, I originally typed in Grand Theft Audio. Must be the game based on the sleazy underworld of people who upload mp3 copies of entire albums to p2p sites  :D
Take care.

Just bought Dragonquest VI on DS - starting out good.

I've been playing Towermadness on iPad a lot...  addicted to destroying aliens bent on stealing my 10 sheep.

Grand Theft Audio!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if this is the current video game thread or not...  came up in search...

Sooooooo,...  I finally hooked up my ps3 after moving to the new house 4 months ago (not high on the priority list).  However...  getting Dead or Alive 5 and Soul Calibur 5 kind of kicked up my love for silly fighting games.

Having a ball playing - and eyeying my unplayed copy of Skyrim - though I just don't have time for that one right now - I think I'll stick to games that only last a few minutes at a time!

I haven't had alot of time for games in the last year, but I played Fallout New Vegas over the summer, and I'm wrapping up Binary Domain on PC.  It didn't do well critically, but it's fun.  Cheesy dialogue and bad acting and all....
