Black Trees Among Amber Skies

Promo Video
on YouTube.

The latest from Altus is now available to download in MP3, and FLAC for those who rather to burn to CD.

Ambient music for night-time Winter walks in the city.
Originally planned to be released in early January, this album was put aside for other projects... Hence the reason it's an out-of-season theme.  Even if you're not a lover of Winter, don't let that stop you from enjoying the album.

Thank you!  I shared the YouTube link with a few friends.

Hi,

I really appreciate this release.
The music is efficient, straight to the point.
"Darker skies toward the horizon" sometimes reminds me some instrumental works of black tape for a blue girl.
The beautiful "Welcoming the dead days" reminds me the best moments of Numina, especially "Shift to the ghost".
"Sodium glow" sounds like using drone guitar, doesn't it ?

I really feel your music deserves an official release !

All the best
nuun

Thanks again for your comments everyone.

Nuun, what you're hearing on "Sodium Glow" are french horns sampled at a very high rate, and then played back at 44.1k.  I use lots of drone-y guitars in the first two tracks though.

Excellent album, Mike ! I particularly enjoy the last track, reminiscent of the very early Steve Roach (Quiet Music), a minimalist, poetic genre I'd love to hear more often... Thanks for going there !

By the way, I love your previous album "Coma Cluster". Pure bliss !
