When I connect my iPhone to the PC (all 4 of them and my wife's mac), the DCIM photo drive no longer pops up. I can not access them through iTunes either. I've tried everything I can think of from 3rd party programs to shutting down iTunes helper in processes, etc. Apparently, Apple has this policy of if you have any photos in your photos directory on your iPhone that were not taken with your iPhone then you can no longer access the photos directory - unless you delete any and all photos not taken with the particular iPhone. I can't do this as not only are there a bunch of photos that I saved into my photos directory from my wife and friends that I would like to keep - I also don't know which ones aren't mine!
I think this is stupid and incredibly annoying that Apple would have this policy.
Now, I did find a 3rd party program late last night that was working and I was able to transfer all my photos! YAY! Until every freakin' photo had a giant watermark in the middle of each image... I didn't notice until the 800th photo was transferred. Apparently if I want these photos - 95% of which I took - I have to shell out cash to buy a 3rd party program that operates and looks just like iTunes...? Gha!
The only way I could get my photos for free is by e-mailing them 1 by 1 to myself, but I can't e-mail 1,800 pictures to myself. That would take weeks.
Anyone here have any suggestions or know any tech geeks they can ask. I've searched the interweb for several days and found many others in the same situation but with no solutions that worked.
