Talking of reflectivity.....have you figured acoustic treatment in your studio redo John. Perhaps you already have the room treated, if not swing by this links http://gikacoustics.com
I use these in my studio. Really well made, affordable and they do the job.
Actually I just reread your first post and you say you do plan to make the room acoustically more accurate.
Looking at you studio layout might I suggest, and this is from an acoustic perspective....you move the desk which is where your Daw and monitors are, right? To where your synths and bass amp are, basically flip flop them. the reason being that the closet door might be a problem. You can hang treatment on it but if you need access to it could be a real hassel.
My studio is similar in shape to yours and I sit with my back to a double closet with accordion type doors which i have very light weight foam panels hung on. The doors would not take the weight of the acoustic traps.
Good luck with the studio remodeling, its a fun & sometimes challenging journey.
