David Arkenstone enters the world of ambient

I bet his new age friends were warning him, "never go full-ambient".   ;) Not owning this but just listening to the samples and I gotta say this is surpisingly good.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised, he's a musician who's been doing new age for years, and this sounds like something right out of the spacier Spotted Peccary releases and even beyond.  He said he was deeply influenced by a trip to Japan.  Looks like the man with the locks knows where it's at...

This is even a double disc.  After giving it another listen it's definitely more rhythmic, even slightly dubby on occasion (well disc 1 moreso) but still more ambient than anything he did before.
