Suspended in Air - an ambient drone mix
« on: March 29, 2008, 11:27:03 AM »
I've been listening to more drone music than normal, mostly due to Paul Bradley & David Tagg.  I know that there are more than a few drone lovers here on the forum so I decided to make a drone mix.

Nothing extraordinary here from a technical standpoint, just one drone slowly slipping into the next.

I'm sure most forum regulars will recognize most of the artists.  Much of the music here is fairly new. Almost all of it released this year or last, except of course for the Aloof Proof, which almost counts as new because of the reissue last year. This was fairly easy to put together but it flows nicely. Should be excellent for sleeping.

Ooh, yummy. We got Ambient Drones Suspended In Air for supper.
Thanks, Dave. You're a man after my own drone heart. Looks like a great mix. Some of my own current and recent faves on there :)

For those interested in David Tagg (included on Dave's mix):

Furthernoise issue April 2008

"David Tagg - Waist Deep Seas of Milk" (review)
"New York musician, David Tagg, has seen The Future of Modern Guitar. And this sonic seer's astral projections are sumptuously spread across the ambient expanses of Waist Deep Seas of Milk, though all trace of twang, pluck and strum is dissolved in FX haze and spun out in endless echo returns."

Hi Alan.

Great review. This is truly a wonderful album of guitar drones.

BTW: David and i are planning a release for this year from him
on waterscape. He gave me several albums that i should choose
from, but i still cant decide which one to release, because all
of them are great. Though decisions. There is a 18min leftover
from the Waist Deep Seas of Milk Sessions.
