A bit late to the circus....

American Gods by Neil Gaiman - bought after watching series 1 on bluray…

The series takes the basic story of the book and explores characters, events and themes in more detail and unexpected ways.

I prefer the book and am on second read.

The last thing I read was Survivor Song by Paul Tremblay. It has the feel of a zombie apocalypse story but, you know, without zombies. I really enjoyed it, and if you've enjoyed any of Tremblay's other recent horror books like Head Full of Ghosts or Cabin at the End of the World, you'll probably like this one too. It grabs hold of you in the first pages and drags you all the way through.

After that I started The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones, which is very good as well. It's about a group of young Native American men who make a bad decision while out on an illegal hunt on the reservation, which has horrifying repercussions that follow all the participants of the hunt even years later, after some have moved away.
