"Album only" tracks on iTunes

Does it bug you when you have to buy the whole album on iTunes just because a track you want is more than 10 minutes long?  I think iTunes should do away with this practice as it's going to not generate as much revenue.  Think about it:  you don't like every song except the 11:00 one.  So you don't buy the album.  But if they'd let you purchase that song for 99 cents, that's 99 more cents in somebody's pocket.

They should cost each track respective of their length so that the total comes to the same amount as purchasing the album as a whole. So, for example, one track will be $2.35, another $1.97, etc. The 99 cents per track thing doesn't work in all cases.

So if I just want one Ramones track... it should be 13 cents pretty much across their entire catalog... ;-)

I don't buy music from iTunes, but for info, it's exactly the same on eMusic which is where I buy almost all of my downloads. It was the same on Napster here in the UK before they were bought by Rhapsody and stopped allowing downloads. I agree - it's daft.
