Music to bring you down to earth
« on: December 27, 2012, 10:41:21 PM »
Lately it has become a big concern for me to find music that helps me bring me down to earth. Often something with a melancholic touch. I'll give you some pointers in which direction I am going and hopefully more users than me will have use of this thread.

Harold Budd - Avalon Sutra
Milieu - A Worm Wooden Hollow
SND - Stdio
Jefferson Airplane - Crown of Creation
George Michael's tracks
Alio Die - Suspended Feathers

most of James Johnson's music.  The Butterfly Chamber is a good one.

Also he teamed up with Alio Die in "Cube 7" and it pretty much fits what you're looking for.

Lately I downloaded Emanuel Errante's Humus download on Somnia label.  Though I haven't heard Herion's Out and About, maybe those 2 albums could work.

Not sure if it's your style but I would also go for something like Marconi Union or Erik Wollo, when his guitar playing meshes with ambient (like Emotional Landscapes).
