I try not to bug everyone here too much about my fiction writing. I've had a handful of weird stories published in the past year or so, and more coming soon, and while some of my Hypnos-related friends have read and commented on them, I've mostly left that out of the Hypnos Forum... so far.
I think some of you might be interested in my story "The Lure of Devouring Light" which appeared in the April issue of Apex Magazine. For those of you unfamiliar with Apex, it's a prominent electronically published magazine which covers the genres of science fiction, fantasy and horror.
"The Lure of Devouring Light" is a dark and strange tale that takes place in the lead-up to a performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen's classical cycle, Licht
. In the course of the story, there's a musical improvisation that may appeal to ambient music performers or listeners.
I realize this sort of thing won't appeal to everyone, but if it sounds interesting, you can read it for free on Apex's web site (they also sell ebook reader versions of each issue for $2.99) and let me know what you think, here or in the comments on the Apex web site.http://www.apex-magazine.com/the-lure-of-devouring-light/http://www.apex-magazine.com/the-lure-of-devouring-light/
