'Lumen' released
« on: March 21, 2014, 09:29:13 AM »
Somewhat out of step with my releasing plans for this year, I’ve released ‘Lumen’ today.

‘Arising out of a larger project, ‘Lumen’ came together as a selection of three tracks which I felt worked together as a coherent whole. There is a sonic diversity to this release ranging from sonorous shimmerings down to seismic shifts.’

This release is currently a Bandcamp exclusive and is available here:

(24 Bit FLAC format format)

Downloading now Pete......Liguid Emerald is wonderful, lots of textures and washes that hold together so well, in fact there is some much sonically in this short release it really feels like a full 74 minutes of music.  :)

Cheers Julio !

'Liquid Emerald' was my attempt to do some kind of Philip Glass type minimalism in an ambient 'manner' - of sorts !
I've been working on new material since I released 'NYX' last July, but I was getting really bogged down with things that were problematic and I was very keen to release something new, so these tracks struck me as being 'coherent' enough to release as a short album.

Sound like you've utilized wavetable sounds. Can you comment on that? thanks

Primarily, I used two Kontakt libraries for Tuba and Pan Drum sounds (the pan drum sounds were mostly processed) and Metadrone and some rather esoteric Reaktor ensembles. I used quite a lot of other things too (in smaller ways). As I usually do, lots of processing was done along the way.

As far as I'm aware, I didn't use any dedicated wavetable synths.

Thanks for asking nonetheless.
