We're planning to record the show, and if the performance is any good we'll release it on Hypnos Secret Sounds.

I like that 'if'...  :)

Of course, with you two veteran rockers... I'm sure you'll bring the house down.

The show was a lot of fun, and ended up sounding great, but not without some pre-show stress as I had some equipment difficulties.  The audio interface connected to my laptop didn't work at all, and my setup was just a bass guitar played through some effects in Ableton Live... but I had no way of getting audio in and out of the computer. Luckily I brought enough extra cables and adapters that I was able to feed a signal in through the laptop's microphone jack, and out through the headphone jack, so it worked OK in the end.

I was in a panic before the show, though.  After fiddling with the audio interface for a half hour, trying to figure out why the laptop didn't "see" it, I was figuring that I'd be unable to play, and we could either cancel the show or Dave could just play alone.  After all that panic, though, it came together just fine and I'm sure nobody in the audience had any idea something was wrong.

All the extra cables and adapters I used, I had intended to use for sending a signal to my portable DAT recorder, so I wasn't able to record the show.  That's unfortunate because the performance sounded really great and it would have made a nice live document.

Dave and I are talking about playing again soon, though, at the same place... maybe for a CD release party for our upcoming CD, Infinite In All Directions.  If that happens, I'll bring a slightly different setup, one that's more reliable, and we should be able to get a live recording at that time.

Pre-show stress is bad enough without wrestling with the gear
and trying to find alternate solutions. I'm glad to hear that you
made it happen and the only casualty was the recording. More
incentive to do it again - although I have a theory that the very
best performances happen when the recorders aren't working.

Good job on finding the workaround to get your audio in.

I've found that just like when I travel, when I play a gig I always, always forget "something".   I'm never sure what it's going to be... a critical power cable, a hairbrush, I thought I'd forgotten my trumpet for the Miramar show in Milwaukee (it was in the car, just buried), I forgot to bring a nice belt for a work trip once... that was humorous..., a power strip (or 5) - etc. etc...
