The Folktek stuff is really interesting. I've been tempted on more than one occasion, but they aren't cheap. Like Loren said in another thread, some of them do appear to be one trick ponies.

Each "instrument" can stand alone as an art piece! Amazingly cool designs and some very interesting sounds. I could also see some really interesting performances with the integration of their instruments in a live performance.

I would use these as more of an enhancement to my current methodology, rather than any centerpiece. Not really a go-to instrument for me personally, but the potential is there for some serious generation of electronic rhythmic elements.

Among the most unique and aesthetic musical instrument creations I've ever seen. Extra points for originality. :-)

Just been on the site. Damn it! Now I've got the bug again.

The trio of instruments playing together on a few of the videos on the website really sound good, glitchy and offers some unusual rhythmic possibilities.  Very odd yet exciting interface.
