Groove sent me a status on this.....in stock $22.49 + $9.70 shipping.  In the scheme of things this is a decent price but the shippings getting up there.....Im going to pass.

Julio, did you read the previous posts?  You can get this for $17.50 total from Stearns site, if they have any left.

Regarding Groove Unlimited shipping, it's outrageous.  No one in Europe charges that much, unless maybe for registered.  Databloem, also in Netherlands, charges 5 EUR, about $6, flat rate per order.   I have used Groove but less likely now unless it's something I can't get anywhere else.

If anyone cares, I scanned my Bandcamp FLAC version of the 2015 remaster with the TT Dynamic Range Meter and uploaded the log to the Dynamic Range Database.

http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/list?artist=&album=planetary+unfolding

The differences between the loudness of the 1985 CD and the remastered version appear to be very slight. That doesn't mean there aren't EQ differences and such as well. I have not compared the two because I don't have the 1985 CD. However, the remaster is not a "loudness war" type remaster if that's what anyone is worried about.

As noted, the only formats the remaster is available in are Bandcamp downloads and the CD-R "on demand" thing.

I did drone on but Im looking for a pressed cd not a cdr as I understand the current Streans version is or have I not been paying attention.

Planetary Unfolding was the main inspiration for me to get a small Serge modular system which this music was composed on.

Read my last couple posts.  Short version:  go to his website, email asking if they have Planetary original CD.

FYI.  The copy of Planetary Unfolding I just received using the Michael Stearns website form was a CDR.  :(  (Luckily, I still have my original CD on Sonic Atmospheres, though it's scratched.)  On the positive side, the liner notes say it was mastered by Bob Ohlsson.  He did a lot of the mastering for HOS releases and mastered my Gongland album.

I received a copy of the original sonic atmospheres "Planetary Unfolding" yesterday.  Have not heard this in 10 years or more. :)

MSP/Earth Turtle are great to deal with.......below is one of the emails they sent me that covers the cdr quality of the 2015 re mastered version.

Hello Julio
The newly re-mastered version is a CD-R but very high quality.
TrepStar uses mastering grade Taiyo Uden blanks and burns the discs one at
a time, not en-masse.
If you'd like a copy of the older version which is pressed, we still have
some here at the office.  The cost would be US $17.50 here in the US, and
$25 if you live outside of the US.  You can pay either with a check, or
via PayPal.
Just let me know what you'd like to do.

Doh!!  Forrest, don't think you read these posts too carefully.  I said you needed to email the website about the original CD if you wanted that.  👽

If you ask Ron to send the cd without the bigger hardcase postage will be much cheaper; btw, the Databloem releases are all thin-cases, so also lower postage rates; when I  get an album from the US, postage is also between $ 9.50 and $11,50
