NI Maschine Jam
« on: January 16, 2017, 03:25:59 PM »
Was not intending this purchase, but could not resist.
The Maschine Jam controller is excellent. Well built, very flexible. Handsome !
But the big surprise if how good the Maschine software is that comes with it.
Remarkable !

That's a bargain price considering everything included.  Are you planning on making something other than drone with it?  It appears to be overkill for drone.  It would be useful for Berlin school music and of course anything with several layers of sequences.

I don't just do drone ambient, I work on rhythmic and experimental music too. The thing is it's a great controller for whatever you might want to do. Different paradigm than yer standard keyboard, but not so distant, just a few degrees more complex and deeply integrated with it's software. Flexible is probably the best word for it. As with the new Korg Electribe I bought recently, the demos all tend to be nothing but layered dance beats, but they can be put to many more purposes than that if they have the flexibility.

How consistent and accurate are those touch strips? On any instrument I own, they're slow or iffy, though they're great in theory.

Scott :: These are the best I have ever used. Very sensitive (no pressure needed). Very immediate. Feel very accurate. And the side leds really help.
