We live in a time that is unique in the evolution of the synthesizer......from soft synths, the revolution of Eurorack modular, analog synths for the likes Dave Smith and now this.....a 21st century Memorymoog and no doubt then some.    Exciting times!

Memorymoog made in 1982.....you can see where the new synth has got its looks from.  I recall asking a question when I went on the Moog Factory tour last year....."Any chance of polyphonic instrument", "Always a chance" was the reply.  Well chance has become a reality.

Hmm, I didn't watch the entire video, but based on about half of it that I did see I have to say I was not impressed with the sound of this new synth. I'll wait to hear more of it later when we get some proper sounds, or I can play one in person somewhere.
Take care.

There are a few sound demo's of the Moog One emerging that have not really impressed me either......that maybe because everyone seems to want to do the big fat poly synth thing. Need to get this synth into the hands of players with a taste for the exotic and experimental

Thought I would resurrect this as some time has passed and there are more people with it under their fingers.

I must say Im not blown away by the sound yet.....there are better sounds heard from the Moog One now and my feeling is that it needs a good deal of programming chops as well a playing chops to get the most out of it as this video suggests. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yZrkczdRTg

My hope was that this could replace my Oberheim Matrix 12 when it no longer is functioning and repairs cost are ridiculous which they really are already.  For my taste the sound of the Moog One does not measure up to the Matrix 12.  What the Moog One can do to the sound  exceeds what the Matrix 12 can, well the Matrix 12 is certainly no slouch with a vast array of modulation possibilities but none of this is important if the sound does not inspire you to create.....Lets see.

Not sure if it will replace a Matrix 12, but one thing I do know is you can sell your Matrix 12 and buy a Moog One without having to spend much if it at all on it. I'd take either if given to me.  ;)
Take care.

Hi Loren,

Nice to chat with you again......Its nuts what I see people asking for the Matrix 12, not sure if they are getting those prices.  It was not cheap 10 years ago, though I traded a 3 panel Serge System for it + a little cash.  Truly miss that Serge but such is life.
