How the music device you are using affects your sonic signature.

In ambient music or space music in particular, a freedom of instrumentation unfolds that is hardly but possible in classical music. This freedom reaches its highest level when we have left a signature within it.

Unfolding the music means opening one's soul to the unknown and the known that we carry within and realizing that there is no difference. The commonality is there in everyone.

Unfolding an instrument means opening one's soul to the unknown and the known that we carry within and realizing that there is no difference. The commonality is there in everyone.

Unfolding one's self means opening one's soul to the unknown and the known that we carry within and realizing that there is no difference. The commonality is there in everyone.

Music, instrument and self in harmony with the unknown and the known. Like perfection and imperfection, it is a unity. The timbre is determined by the music, the instrument and the self, because all three reflect the surrounding and the memory.

When the experience and the memory are the future. When the future and the memory are the experience. When the memory is the experience and the future. I think then you master your instrument. Because you have opened your soul to the known and unknown, and you can dare an orderly free fall into the music.

As already mentioned, ambient and space music is very free in terms of instrumentation. In good ambient, I hear a mood, a signature, a freedom, a hesitation, a contemplation, an experience, a vision of someone who creates from the unity of instrument, music and self.

However, I also hear when music is unfree to create from within itself. I listen to a lot of music at times, and a lot of it is similar. Instrumentation. When the instrumentation is not in tune with the individual and the music. We have something perfect and imperfect within us that is alike. If we look at it differently, it turns into the opposite. When black keys become white keys.

What I mean by that is, our soul is more than ordinary. We are able to be more than we seem. Music is more than the composer, more than the instrument, more than the self, more than the player, more than experience. We grasp the memory that we do not yet know. We reach for the unknown that we recognize. We understand timelessness, when time stands still.

A signature comes from a personality. You are what you are. You write what you are. You paint what you are. You make music the way you are. And then you build an instrument, compose a vision, and play from forgetting and remembering, from the future and the here, from the conscious and the unconscious, from the surprising and the calculated. Perfect and imperfect.

It's like the silence that reigns within us that we sometimes don't hear when we talk. The silence between the soundspheres. So important, especially with ambient. No conventions, like composed pauses, because you experience silence. No conventions, like perfect settings, because they don't exist.

If the instrument determines the musician, and thus his music, he does not yet recognize it. If the musician determines the instrument and thereby his music, he goes a few steps too far at this moment. If the music determines the musician, he is the least free. Because the music, the instrument and the self are in harmony, like memories, experiences and the future.

The personality creates a sonic signature only in freedom. And the personality grows, was always there, practices, and remembers, and forgets, and works, builds, creates, destroys. The personality is and is not. Just like the instrument and the music. Interplay. It is easier to experience than to explain.

Space, time, continuum, all one. The moment, the eternity, the instrument, the brief absence of the artist, when a black key becomes a white one, everything connected. Perfection. But it may also be imperfection from another point of view. Either way, the musical instrument will have an impact on your sonic signature.
