Information about the Binary compilation, such as submission guidelines and limitations, will be posted in February, most likely.  You'll probably be able to find the information here, or on the Hypnos news page, or on the MySpace blogs for Hypnos and Binary.  We're not ready to start taking submissions yet, but thanks for your interest.

Great.  Thx. :::Shuffles toward machines:::

plastikman - artifakts  - still a fave.

Yeah, I love old Plastikman stuff.... I just wish Mr. Hawtdog were doing better things these days than playing bad techno and drinking Grey Goose. (sorry, got a chip on my shoulder maybe).

What you think of Consumed?

Just checked out sleepbot....pretty cool.  I've hit up Soma and BlueMars alot....good stuff.  BlueMars is my favorite, especially the cryosleep channel...playlist a bit limited tho.   Gotta hit up the others on this thread....takes a few days to put many things on and go to sleep eh?

Music Gearheads Tech Talk / Alesis Andromeda----Worth the Effort???
« on: January 25, 2008, 02:41:31 AM »

I got some cash and there's an Andromeda in my town for sale for 1700.

I've been checking these guys out for awhile, but I'm also of the school where its better to have a limited synth you know back and forth than a monster you can't tame.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Okay, that was way too fast for comfort.

Thx to Mr. Griffin for the super-human effort.  I only suggested it since I'm a big gear-head and something told me that a lot of other folks here are too (mostly from viewing the studio pics thread).

Now that's a moderator!

I gonna post there now.

I am noticing a lot of instances of the Electrix Filter Factory....a personal fav, as well as the Alesis Mod FX.  On the lower left is a tabla drum machine my friend got in India....super cool...kinda dopey.

Here's one from a long time ago...this was a set-up from a jam-session with a visiting friend so its not my normal way of things (thank god).

Not pictured (just to the left) is all the cool stuff:

TR-909, TB-303, Sh101, Soundlab Minisynth, Korg Poly-6, Juno-60, Casio CZ-101 (just can't bring myself to get rid of it!)

Everything and Nothing / Forum Suggestion (Gear Thread)
« on: January 24, 2008, 12:45:57 AM »

Ever thought of having a "Gear Head" section in the forums?  I notice a lot of the gear threads are peppered throughout this section (everything and nothing).  Just a suggestion.

Hey guys, thanks.  I appreciate the feedback.  It's a ritual for me to record almost immediately after I get a new piece of gear to try out the new sounds.  Wasn't sure anyone would be interested in the improv.  Was going to take it down, but now I'll keep it up there, at least for a while.

I do that a lot too, gotta break the new machines in.

Now Playing / Good Web Radio?
« on: January 24, 2008, 12:34:56 AM »

Was wondering if anyone has any great web radio links they'd like to share.  Something good and random to have in the background while working?  I've personally been getting really the more space / zerobeat side of things...

I've been really into the webcasts lately....just three channels of continuously streamed music, each with a different vibe.  My fav is the "Cryosleep Channel".  Personally I think the playlists might be a bit restrictive but the aesthetic of the site is great and I believe its just someone's pet project (no I am not hawking my own site lol)  ...check it.

Where can we find more on submission guidelines for the Binary Compilation.  I would certainly be interested.
