Hello Hypnos.

It has been a long while since I last visited this forum (sorry), but earlier this year I released another album which I would like to share:

Elemental ambient tracks with a slightly Cornish flavour (all the track titles are in the Cornish language). You should find it good for sleeping, thinking and remembering.

Thanks Julio Di Benedetto. For your interest, that piece you mention is called Iter Meum ad Astris, and there is a studio version of it with better recording quality here.

Still recorded in one take!

Hi phobos, and thank you for your feedback too. There probably will be more live shows from me in the future, though most of my music is not very performable actually (this show was an exception), and I like the idea of my performances being something that doesn't happen very often. If you're ever in the area when the next one comes round, drop by for it!

Big thanks to both CausticReverie and AVirtualMemoryOfficial for your positive feedback. It's great to have your appreciation. I shall certainly endeavour to progress with my currently evolving music ideas.

I don't visit this Forum or post here very often, but dreamSTATE was very important to me in my early exploration of ambient music, and helped to inform my own conceptions of what it is. I just had a listen to this release and it still contains the deep and magical feeling that I have come to associate with the dreamSTATE project, which was a pleasure for me to revisit. Thom Brennan's work sounds very similar to this, particularly his track River Flow.
Did you perform and record all this live? Praise to you if you did.

Hi everyone, and Happy New Year.

I realised I forgot to post the news on this forum that I did my first live music performance back in November, which I am very pleased with because it went quite successfully and was well received by the audience. Therefore I am sharing it here in the hope that it can find some new ears.

Thanks you two. The feedback is appreciated. Enjoy.

Hello all.

I have just released my newest album, For the Ancient Ones. It is a collection of long tracks dedicated to the fallen cultures of our world. And it is a free download.

The album has received its second review, this time from

Interesting, seems to be a trend. Well done. While I'm not an app user myself, I will take this moment to say that dreamSTATE was quite important for me in my early days of exploring ambient music. Thanks for that.

A great review has been made for The Sleeper's Night Journey, praising its ambient qualities and even rating it as a Top Album.

Hi everyone.

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the end of Coil, an experimental British music group, after its founder John Balance died in a tragic accident. Since Balance and I were both born in the same town, I felt that I should mark the occasion with a special track in tribute of the man and his work. It's quite different from my usual output and musical style, but hopefully everyone out there, especially and including other Coil fans, will join me in paying our respects today.

My track is uploaded to Bandcamp ( and ICompositions (

And thank you, thirdsystem, for being such an enthusiastic fan. I was meaning to check with you if your CD had arrived, but it sounds like it did. Enjoy the mix.

Hint: another free track will be released next week.

Hi members of Hypnos.

Just a quick announcement to say that I have re-uploaded my special mix to Bandcamp. Originally released in 2010 at The Ambient Collective, this special mix by Bluejooz groups five tracks by The Great Schizm into a continuous piece of music.

The CD edition is finally complete and can now be ordered from Bandcamp.
Thanks again to all who have listened and given feedback.

And thanks to you too hdibrell, you are the first to purchase a copy. If you want a copy of the CD when it's ready, just let me know and I'll get one shipped to you.
I agree with you by the way, good ambient music should put people to sleep. By the way, there's an accompanying track to the album, featured on this recent compilation.
It's a little frightening at the start, but I feel the concept justifies that.

Thanks again!

Thank you very much for taking the time for feedback Castleview, that is much appreciated. I will be sure to return the favour and listen to some of your creations.

Greetings members of Hypnos.

I am announcing the release of my second ambient album, The Sleeper's Night Journey, a concept album about the dream world. It can be purchased as a digital download only at the current time, but any purchases now will fund printing of the physical CD edition, which will be posted at no extra cost to buyers if they desire.

I really hope that all who buy this release will enjoy it and listen to it many times over. Many thanks, and feedback is always appreciated; feel free to post thoughts in this thread. Cheers.

I created a Bandcamp page this year, so here it is:

Did your survey yesterday. I would be very interested to hear the results of what you find; I was wondering whether an academic paper about ambient music would ever surface. Best of luck to your further progress.
