#1820
has been shifting from my Vidna revival to Mathias Grassow recently..

mathias grassow - himalaya / bliss
mathias grassow & klaus wiese - mercurius

(both strong releases, quite minimal sounding, especially Himalaya.. i'm definitely up for more Grassow in the upcoming weeks..)

brock van wey - white clouds drift on and on
(all gentle white sounding ambient passages, he couldn't describe it better himself by this title, it's a grower..)

asher - miniatures
(a 2009 favorite, all nostalgic, all sad & lovely)

tomoko sauvage - ombrophilia
(i have a weakness for asian women, especially when they want to flirt with you in sound..  :) all very nice, kind of water-generated gamelan)

gregg kowalksy - tape chants

(slowly getting into these thick slab of drones..)

jkn

I'm in a Blur mood...  picked up their "13" album on $1.99 daily special on Amazon (but failed to load into my iPod)...

Parklife spinning now.

Hawkwind - Space Ritual ... never grow weary of this masterpiece of space rock. New strange little sounds are noticed even after prodigious amounts of listens. Shows how awesome and textured this band is.

DeepR

Sviatoslav Richter playing a movement from a Schubert Sonata

those first 3 minutes just leave me breathless

9dragons

Aethenor - Betimes Black Cloudmasses. Bought this one for the nice letterpress packaging, and honestly didn't have high hopes, but it is actually quite good. Avant garde Pink Floyd style instrumental ambient. Intense.

Steve Roach - MC & SS disc 2

You got me playing it again. Damn fine piece when you are in the mood for it.

Taylor Deupree- Sea Last, and Weather + Worn; great music for a quiet Sunday Morning.

Joe R

Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words- Lost In Reflections; excellent, and the first track is actually frightening in it's intensity.

Also had a Taylor Dupree on today : Solo Andata
Nice work.

- Murcof: Remembranza
In my mind, untouched by his other releases.

Sublamp - Shiverland - Serac

Lawrence English - Kiri No Oto - Touch

Marble Sky - The Sad Return - Students Of Decay

(All three releases are excellent.....a very similiar thread seems to run between these three releases....grey skies and cold weather)

On Now:
The Tumbled Sea - Songs By The Tumbled Sea - Self-Released
(strong similarties with Eluvium here....just ordered his brand new album "Meldoy/Summer" over and Future Recordings.  From The sounds of this I was impressed...and with the sound samples for "Melody/Summer" i'm evn more impressed.....have a feeling we have great things to hear from this artist)

Next:

Color Dream - Infinite Gravity - Fag Tapes

Fern

Dave Michuda

Gregg Kowalsky - Tape Chants
Segue - Into The Fall
Ten and Tracer - Tsotsitaal
Martin Herterich - Silent Fileds

ffcal

d_rradio - leaves (I liked about a half of this album a lot.  Some of tracks went on a bit too long, and I'm not a big fan of what seems like a lazy approach to composition--using orchestral samples.)
Hakobune - We Left The Window Open Sometimes (this I like a lot more; the Jason Sloan remix is especially fine.)

Hey, Anthony, Solo Andata is actually a band, not a Taylor Deupree album title.
I imagine you're talking about this album, which collects performances from three artists:

I have their album Fyris Swan, which is very nice sort of electro-acoustic cinematic-pastoral stuff:

:D You're correct, Alan ... and you already know how bad I am at putting
albums in the correct folders.

A re-inspection indeed reveals it to be your top one, "Live in Melbourne",
with Solo Andata, Seaworthy, and Taylor Dupree. I had mindlessly given
it the wrong title. Nice album though.

Ferngerms

Earlier:
2350 Broadway - 2350 Broadway - Fax
(Just because....it's nice listening to those 90's classics and comparing how much and how little ambient has changed compared to some artist from this period)

Then:

Shades Of Orion - Shades Of Orion 3 - Fax
(It's been like 10 years since the last time I visited this album....all but one track sounds dated...)

And Now:

Oophoi - Dreams Part 1-7 - Umbra
(Currently on the fourth mini "A Single, Perfect Sphere Beyond The Curved Horizon"...perhaps some of my most favortie moments in Oophoi's vast catalog....lulling drifts)

And Next... if I make it out Oophoi's 7 Mini's:

Thomas Koner - Nuuk - Mille Plateaux
