I'm glad this was made available with a voice-less version of Grief Point. Dan Bejar's voice on the Endless Falls CD wrecked it for me.

I really like Brian's podcasts, but sometimes he takes long breaks from doing them.  Sort of how sometimes a record label takes long breaks from releasing CDs!

APK,

Glad you enjoyed the mix, it's one of my favorites.  That first krill.minima track is a killer.

Mark,

I totally agree with you on the Grief Point track, the voice just annoyed me.

Yep that krill.min is indeed excellent.
My daughter loved your mix as well and insisted on her own copy.

Andrew Chalk - Ghost of Nadhodka (took a while to while to warm up to this one (one long piece and a number of shorter ones), but I'm starting to like it; comes in an especially beautiful package, much like his other Faraway Press releases, though this one's on Siren)
Wire - 154 (a post-punk classic)

Vladislav delay – entain
(together with Anima & Multila my favorite Vladislav CDs)

Jan bang – ..and poppies from Kandahar
(this one is quite growing on me, could have been considered as a brilliant triptych with Henriksen & Hassell latest ECM discs)

Talvihorros – music in four movements
(beautiful release, has become a favorite of the year I guess..)

Taylor deupree – shoals
(everything Taylor does is good anyway recently, I wish he made those fabulous gamelan instruments sources even more obvious in the mix)

Matt shoemaker – tropical amnesia : one
(excellent fieldrecording from the amazon rainforest, unlike many other fieldrecording releases this adds some kind of suspense the atmosphere.. the 1st part of  3 installments)

Deepchord presents echospace – liumin / liumin reduced
(wow, this one comes as a surprise after hearing initially short samples, both discs are counterbalanced to each other, 1st one with very cool deep-end grooves and the 2nd one (to my taste even better) beautiful washed out ambient sounds with numerous fieldrecordings taken in japan)

Oneohtrix point never – returnal
(what can I say, FANTASTIC! Enlightning colour-splashing –analog- sounds swirling and whirling.. a definite fave of the year)

anticipating;

celer - salvaged voilets
aidan baker - songs of flowers & skin
svarte greiner - penpals forever (and ever)
steven r smith - antimony / kohl
steve roach - sign of ages

Sorry, guys.  I took a new job in February and haven't had much "quiet time" to get one going.  I have the newest episode all planned out (for the most part), but no time in which to execute!

Mike Oldfield - Hergest Ridge (deluxe version) (includes the original 1974 mix)(this one really holds the test of time for me, especially the original Side One; but don't waste your time on the single disc release, which only includes the really subpar 2010 mix).

Scott- Haven't heard it yet, as I don't have a 5.1 set-up, though I wouldn't put my money on it.  The 2010 stereo mix of Hergeest Ridge only highlighted for me some of the shortcomings in Oldfield's playing, and his tendency to play slightly out of sync.
