Ah Portland

[Infraction]

I believe there may be a couple of authorities on the city.  I'm in over the weekend, and just
wanted some suggestions for food, drinks - and most importantly, record stores

I found everyday music in the pearl district and only had about 10 minutes to browse - but am
planning a return trip tomorrow!

Sorry I didn't see this until the weekend was over, Jason.   If you're not gone yet, there's another Everyday Music store across the river, on about NE 20th and Sandy, that I prefer to the downtown store.

There aren't too many great record stores around any more, unfortunately.

Not a problem Mike.  It was on short notice that I posted that request.

I was pretty impressed by the Everyday Music downtown, esp. when I went back a second
time and discovered another huge room adjacent to the main one.

I did find one of the Eno boxsets though used for a decent price.

In case you're still in town, or if someone else is looking at this thread prior to a visit to Portland, another store worth checking out is Music Millennium on East Burnside and about 32nd, near Laurelhurst Park.

Even Spin Magazine says it's one of the best indie record stores in America.  Not a lot of used CDs, though, mostly new.
