I have do much research into this instrument which I wont go into now, and I really would love to have the privilege to play one but....these instruments are very hard to make and few make them. There is a company in the USA called Pantheon Steel http://www.pantheonsteel.com/Home.aspx that makes them.... and has a 30+ year wait list if you were to try to order one so they work on a lottery basis.....imagine in a "gimme it now" culture many might be dead before they ever played one...myself included! These Handpans in the video are made in Switzerland.

Julio, maybe you know it already, but there is another option:

Hand percussion is one of my things. I have never seen or heard of that fascinating instrument.

I have actually seen the sonic couture site and it is the only option right now,  thanks for suggesting.  I was thinking of trying to make one and as I researched it I discovered how difficult they are to make and the tuning even more so.  I believe they evolved from steel drums of the Caribbean though the history is not clear.  It is just such a unique sound!
