I have now seen serenity, it was a good film..a quite good ending to the tv series I suppose...

I will now download Twin Peaks, I have heard a lot of good things about it, and I know David Lynch is one of the directors.
Usually Prefer Sci-fi ..but since David Lynch is director I need to see it.

You wouldn't happen to enjoy older British Comedy?? Just asking. I may try to obtain "Yes, Minister" sometime this fall. From what I heard, you don't need to understand Brit politics to enjoy the show!

I remember seeing that show years ago, it wasn't bad. Its not the first show I think of when someone mentions older British comedy shows. I usually think of Monty Python or The Young Ones.
Take care.

British comedy ::::

- The Mighty Boosh

I did not make this thread to get recommendations for comedy, actually comedy makes me only depressed often, unless I am in an unusual good mood.
Of course there is different kinds of of comedy, I can like dark comedy, but there is too much silly comedy that only makes me feel depressed.

Two guys at work have now convinced me to download Stargate TV series, according to them it is the best space tv seires, but on the other hand they have not seen battlestar galactica.
I told them..they have really missed something... I strongly doubt Stargate is as good.

Star trek I will watch also as I mentioned..but.. it is is soo many seasons...and I know the nerd factor is quite high...but it is a series I really need to see some time..
But I think I will begin with stargate.

Stargate is almost like Star Trek in that it was on for so many years and their where a few spin off series. Its hard to compare it to Battlestar Galactica, most of the shows where a lot lighter then BG, at least compared to BG's first two seasons, the show lost me at the start of season three. One of my all time favorite shows was the original Prisoner from the 1960s. I think you would probably like that. I'm rewatching the remake from last year, I don't think its as good but I am enjoying it more then I did the first time around.

As for The Mighty Boosh I managed to catch an episode, frankly I thought it tried too hard. I'd rather watch The Goodies instead.  ;D
Take care.

Difficult to judge The Boosh by a single episode ... some are not so good. But when they are good they are great. They are an acquired taste though.

The Goodies ... wow, that takes me back.  ;D

The Goodies - Ecky Thump indeed !
The Mighty Boosh - like the curates egg - good in parts

I quite like 'The IT crowd' (UK), 'The flight of the Conchords (NZ) and 'King of the Hill' (US).
I find very little 'modern' comedy to be particularly funny actually. However, I can watch 'Father Ted' indefinitely.

We all need a good laugh these days !

cheers

Twin Peaks is definitely an experience.  You just have to kind of let it sink in.  The mood is the key I think.

I have seen some episodes already, yes, it has a very good and dreamy/cosy atmosphere..And also quite cheesy but in an good David Lynch fashion...I love to watch at night...in this autumn darkness.. it will be interesting to see how the series involve..every one I have talked with does like it.

I can recommend a german tv series called "Heimat" one of the best I have seen...it is both philosophical and artistic...quality stuff.

The Goodies and the Young Ones (takes me back too).

drone on

Farscape (great sci-fi series)

Curb Your Enthusiasm (every bit as good as Seinfeld, if not better)

The Shield (lost track of the later seasons, but I remember the first couple were awesome)

Recently bought the Bottom box-set - every episode is brilliant, toilet humour at its finest  :D

Alright, I need some good TV series to watch... which would you recommend and why ???

Some of my favorite tv series include LOST, battlestar Galactica, Dark Angel etc.

I am currently watching Caprica which is related to Battlestar Galactica...it is quite good..but the ambition and budget I think is lacking...
But I like how they mix the the real world with the virtual world.

I have also been thinking about to begin to watch Star trek once for all..I have only seen maybe 1-2 episodes on tv long time ago..
I doubt it is as good as Battlestar Galactica though...

For anyone in the UK I'd recommend Benidorm which is being repeated at the moment.
