Closing the Eternity & Mathias Grassow (Aquarellist). Probably my #1 release of the year.

. . . as if millions of voices from artists with CDs still at the pressing plant suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced . . .

Huh?  You know, I hope you are joking here dude because that kind of sarcasm is neither wanted nor appreciated.  If you got some bone to pick then PM me...

No sarcasm; just a Star Wars reference that didn't play out well.  :'(

I'm still holding out hope for a few releases, like the one that has been posted as upcoming on Alio Die's webpage since the middle of the summer. The clips sound great.

I'm curious, according to info from publisher the very School of Physics and Astronomy of The University of Edinburgh ordered a copy of limited edition of CLOSING THE ETERNITY - Superstring Paradigma CD for their scientific(?) purposes.

I knew you'll like it.  :)
Ambient DNA

Ha, that's interesting!  It could be a good soundtrack to the study of dark matter.  ;)

Don't stop and continue to explore Closing the Eternity's music. Next --  "Kosmodrones". CD-R release but one of my favorite and very cheap. Official distro. It's about 2.5 $.

Quote"Recorded in 1999-2002, but only now published for the first time, a full-length album authoritative Ural project. Three tracks, bound semantic interference with three poems Georgi Ivanov that remain after a "hysterical fit of an atomic / All spray in a blaze of blue." Black hum of space vacuum and ice shine monumental electronic melodies. "Only the yellow dawn, / Only Star icy / Only for millions of years." Color cover, disc with tape, three attachments with verses Ivanov. "

I'd love to buy it but I don't read Russian.  ;D

Just PM me. We can work it out.  :)

Nice to see RMI spitting out relases again.. alot of albums in 2013.

Any pending lists??? I like seeing if there's anything I missed this year.

Ekstasis

I think 2013 has been a really bad music year... no 4.5 or 5 star releases  only some 4 stars for me..

drone on

What are your four stars?

Ekstasis

let me see.. Bear in mind I have not been listening to every album released in 2013..but I tend to follow those artists I already like..but also explore new artists..Also do they have to be released in 2013 ? cause some albums are released maybe 2011 or 2012

The thread is Best of 2013, so keeping it there would be good.
...........

I find with these Best Of things that so many people often forget that there are a ton of albums released and that the vast majority of listeners only hear a smallish subset of them, so their Best Of is simply their favourites of what they did hear. And if you have a bias towards a particular style of ambient then the subset can be much smaller. Which might be why someone thinks it has been a "bad year" if the particular style they like has been weak.

If I posted a Best Of list it would be a joke because I've only seriously heard (listened to more than once or twice) about 20 different albums all year.  Probably less than that.  :-\

The Circular Ruins / Lammergeyer / Nunc Stans

With those caveats in mind, Anthony, what were some of the 2013 releases you enjoyed the most? And you're NOT allowed to list Lammergeyer!
