Hi all,

first of all a big thank-you to Mark for getting the forum up and running again -- it would have been a shame to see this resource of information gone for good.

I hope you won't mind me chiming in where the last bit of News was lost: Since June, I have released a couple of download-only albums through Bandcamp (thanks for dropping by). The first one was permafrost -- the sleep concert edition which is roughly three and a half hours of glacial drones:

https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/permafrost-the-sleep-concert-edition

Essentially, it is the complete score of my 2010 limited-edition CDR release. I re-arranged the single segments slightly which makes for some new sonic vistas in my opinion. There will be more glacial ambient drones in the course of this year so please keep watching this space.

Next in line is the putney which was released in July -- an album full of ambient drones, loops, and atmospheric work reminiscent of Forbidden Planet, created entirely on the EMS VCS-3, plus some analogue outboard devices like spring reverbs, tape Loops, and tape delays:

Today, the putney 2 -- sperrgebiete was released as a continuation of the first putney album -- recorded in seclusion while being quarantined for two weeks as the whole County I live in was locked down.. not the most pleasant experience in my life, I must admit:

For more information on the individual albums, please refer to the respective liner notes.

A big thank-you to all of you for your ongoing support.

Stay healthy, keep alert, and all the best,

Stephen

Hi all,

as some of you may have noticed, I decided to skip September's Bandcamp Friday and, instead, postponed a new FLAC release until today:

For those daring enough, a selection of tracks from my first two cassette albums (from 1989 and 1991) has finally been made available -- plus three previously unreleased live recordings of my very first  concert (well, sort of), performed in July 1993. Bum notes aplenty, warts, mayhem -- the works:

Enjoy, and thank you for your ongoing support in these times!

Hi all,

today it's 30th January 2021, and today would have been Klaus "Cosmic" Hoffmann-Hoock's 70th birthday.

In order to celebrate this and commemorate Klaus and his work, I have made a little tribute track available, Mellotron and all.

This track is available for free (of course you can donate if you wish), and it will be available only at this weekend. After that, it will be removed from my list of official and publically available releases.

I hope The Tall One will also enjoy this track, somewhere out in space.

Thanks for your time, stay healthy,

Stephen

Hi all,

the first Bandcamp Friday of 2021 sees me release a new digital download-only album, called "moon musick":

https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/moon-musick

No sequencers present this time around but 60 minutes of cosmic space ambient music (or is it cosmic ambient space music?). For more info, please refer to the respective Bandcamp entry.

This album will remain available for an indfinite period of time, unlike "madanpura" which was available only briefly.

Thanks for your time and your support.

Enjoy, and stay healthy,

Stephen

Hi all,

today it's Bandcamp Friday, with Bandcamp charging no fees on download albums sold. Reason enough to make another FLAC download available:

https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/gr-nland-music-for-glaciers

It's a remastered version of my 2006 album grønland, roughly 70 minutes of icy soundscapes and looped textural sound. When buying the single track, you will receive the missing pieces which are available as bonus tracks only to those who purchase the album.

Thanks for your time and your kind support, enjoy,

Stephen

Hi all,

even though there is no Bandcamp Friday in sight, I decided to make another FLAC download album available for those into dark, glacial ambient:

https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/cryotainer-music-for-gasometers

This is the live recording of my 2007 performance at Oberhausen Gasometer, recorded using a dummy head microphone for capturing the ambience of the huge gas tank, combined with the sound straight from the desk. It was really cold in there...

Please find more detailed info on the release page.

Thanks for listening and your time, enjoy!
