I've got one from Aidan Baker that's pretty interesting in terms of playing techniques. In this one performance, he effectively shows off different ways to interact with the guitar, whether it be bowing it like he's playing cello or strumming at different parts of the neck of the guitar:

@ Julio: I would suggest to look into the Digitech Freqout... It's more like a sustainer/sustainiac/Infinite guitar in a box. A freeze-type pedal only holds the last note whereas the aforementioned devices are a lot more flexible. I have a Sustainiac built into my guitar.

Bought one of these pedals. Still trying it out, but the juries out on it at the moment...
Having used an ebow for years and recently acquired two sustainer guitars, this sounds a bit 'odd'. It doesn't do 'infinite' sustain, but sometimes it does something similiar. Will report back later after more perusals.

Possibly the most natural sounding digital reverb.....quite beautiful! What happens in the tail is so Important...so far most seem to my ears to be full of ....I don't know, fluffy space full of artifice, this seems different

Quite interesting and looks like he's enjoying himself. but that's what people used to do all the time (in the pre-internet days) in their studios / bedrooms, as part of daily experimenting / working in progress.
Still, intriguing as to how he's layering all these sounds together, I would rather hear some more in the way of 'craft' myself.

I read about some mad guitarist who would plug his guitar in and throw vegetables at it and record the results. He said he preferred the sound of tomatoes :)

I agree Pete....some how to context would be nice.  I believe he is using the Elecktron Octotrack 8 channel sampler as a looper to do all the layering/recording.  Seems the amp  has a mic on it so perhaps that goes to the mixer as does all the instruments, stereo out from mixer to pedals and modular and the into the Octotrack.  Im guessing.

I looked at the Octotrack as a possible creative alternative to the computer to funtion as an advanced looper and it well could be the thing is crazy deep with tons of menu diving.  Perhaps the steep learning curve would be worth it.

Here is a look at the Octatrack used with guitar....much of it leaves me puzzled.  It seems hands on is the only way to come to grips with it and fully understand the potential of this machine.

It looks like a great tool but $1400 seems expensive for what's basically a sampler on steroids.
