Ive never really warmed to bourbon....its really hard to pin point why.  Perhaps I have not tasted enough.  Jack Daniels & Coke seems to be the norm around here. Always seems a mixer maybe to its discredit.

Im going to have to revisit the Talisker.....My introduction to malts was Craggenmoor 12, Talisker 10 & Lagavulin 16.

Nice Post Thirdsystem!

Same here, wanting to try Talisker now.

I learned to enjoy bourbon by being shown how well it goes with beer. I don't mean mixed together, but the old "shot and a beer" side-by-side. I started off ordering those in bars with one of the members of Austere, then got into the habit. Even at home, now, Lena and I both often have a few sips of bourbon alongside a nice beer.

dug up this old but great thread today and saw my last post 7 years ago shows me at odds with bourbon....thats changed so I thought I would share a few gems I have had more recently.  My single malt adventures have all but dried up and now I indulge in craft bourbons once in a while.

I had this bourbon on a weekend trip to St.Augustine, Florida which is about 2 hours north of where I live.  My wife and I went to a restaurant that was in an old ice making factory from....i guess before refrigerators and the distillery was part of the premises.  Its special!

Angels Envy.....Great product design and the bourbon delivers.

My wife recently finished an autobiography of Matthew McConaughey and she informed me his favorite bourbon was Wild Turkey Longbranch Bourbon....ok I said and picked up a bottle...well its quite special to say the least and my current favorite.
